Livingstone International University | LIU is a Christian Founded University licensed by the National Council For Higher Education (NCHE) with the LIU main campus in Mbale, Eastern Uganda. Livingstone International University exists to Transform Africa through Quality, Christ-Centered Higher Education.

Livingstone International University | LIU boasts of high quality technology, state of the art media theatre with latest media technology, well equipped library, 2:1 student to computer ratio among others.

Livingstone International University | LIU offers courses that are valuable to African society, as well as spiritual guidance and instruction in Biblical principles. LIU is working to produce students that are ethical, to make the right decisions, employable, to provide for their families, and empowered to make a difference in Uganda.

Courses and Curriculum: The educational foundation of Livingstone International University | LIU is the Liberal Arts Core programme. The Liberal Arts Programme is a 68-hour core of basic courses required of all students. It is not a diploma programme in and of itself but rather a foundation for study in the student’s chosen field. The program reflects the University’s vision statement of having ethical, empowered, employable Christians in every sector of African society.

LivingStone International University Library

The library was opened officially in 2006 as Messiah Theological Institute Library and has since grown and is now Livingstone International University Library. The library has a collection of 21051 textbooks organized on open access shelves in the different sections of the library including fiction for leisure reading and self-development books. The Library Catalogue has been computerized and therefore books and other materials can be reached on-line from anywhere by just entering a key word, title of the book or name of the author. Books are classified and coded using a hierarchical coding system where sub-groups fall within the same array of classes. The majority of the books can be borrowed the rest are for reference only.
