Kampala University | KU is a private multi-campus university in Uganda. It maintains the following campuses, The main campus is located at Ggaba, a southeastern suburb of Kampala, Uganda’s capital and largest city, Mutundwe, southwest of the central business district, Masaka, 130 kilometres (81 mi) southwest of Kampala on the highway to Mbarara, A campus in Luweero, Luweero District, approximately 75 kilometres (47 mi) north of Kampala on the Kampala-Gulu Highway, Jinja, approximately 80 kilometres (50 mi), by road, east of Kampala, on the Kampala-Jinja Highway.
Kampala University has five (5) constituent schools: 1. School of Industrial Art and Design – Ggaba Campus 2. School of Computer Science and Information Technology – Ggaba Campus 3. School of Business and Management – Ggaba Campus 4. School of Education – Ggaba Campus, Masaka Campus 5. School of Arts and Social Sciences – Ggaba Campus 6. School of Nursing and Health Sciences – Mutundwe Campus
The Kampala University | KU Library on the main campus serves all students and staff. Accommodation services and feeding / meals are available and compulsory for all distance programme students. There is a University nurse on campus and a doctor on call who cater for students. Mulago Hospital, the main national referral hospital and several other hospitals and many private clinics are located in Kampala area.
There are ample facilities for sports and games. These include facilities for basket ball, volley ball, handball and badminton. There are chapels for Christians and a Mosque for Muslims on the campus. In addition, there are many other places of worship in the neighborhood. The University is in a sub-urban location only seven kilometers from the Kampala City centre. Public transport is available to and from the City.
