St Charles Technical Institute Butende is privately owned and administered by Masaka Catholic Diocese. It started after the 1979 liberation war under the sponsorship of the KAB Degendorff in Germany. It is registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports, and also possesses a UNEB center Number (UT045).
