Buganda Royal Institute of Business and Technical Education Mengo was founded by Buganda Kingdom in 1999 with a view of equipping students with practical education and skills. to enable them create own employment or become employed in this era of rampant unemployment.

Students at Buganda Royal sit for both internal and external examinations by Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) and Uganda Business and Technical Examination Board (UBTEB).

Facilities: these include adequate lecture rooms, recreation ground, ICT laboratory and some hostels for their students.
