St. Peter’s Primary School, Nsambya is one of the oldest schools in Uganda, having been started by the Mill Hill Missionaries in 1907. The school started as a boys school but has been mixed since 1988.St. Peter's Primary School Nsambya

Academics

St.-Peters-Primary-School-Nsambya-blockis the largest school in the division with an enrollment of 2,440 pupils, of whom 450 are boarders. Day scholars pay 30,000 shillings ($17) per term and boarders 210,000 shillings ($123) per term. There are 27 classrooms, 62 teachers (47 paid by the government and 15 by the School Management Committee) and 31 support staff.

St.-Peters-Primary-School-Nsambya is the best performing school in the division in the Primary Leaving Examination and also has a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

Facilities

St. Peter's Primary School NsambyaOf particular significance is the brass band which has had a tradition in the school since the founding missionaries. The band has earned numerous national and international awards although struggles always with a lack of instruments. Challenges faced by the school are the lack of sufficient toilets to cater for the large number of pupils, furniture for the library and computers.
