Kyankowe Day and Boarding Primary School was founded by the late Gyangenda Sulemani in 1930, the government took it over and it is now patroned by Prince Mulondo Besweri the son of the late Gyagenda Sulemani.

Kyankowe Day and Boarding Primary School is a mixed day and boarding primary school which is a grade 1 by status funded by the government under the Universal Primary Education Program.

KyankoweThe school has five permanent buildings accommodating all classes from primary one to primary seven; it also has a nursery section. In the same buildings are found the head teacher’s office, library and the office of the bursar. Out of the five buildings two are dormitories one for boys and the other for girls.

Kyankowe Day and Boarding School has six teachers’ residential units including the head teacher and the deputy head teachers’ houses. All teachers reside within the school.

Curriculum
The school follows the National Curriculum. Teachers teach all subjects according to the curriculum and the learners do national examinations at the end of primary seven (Primary Leaving Examination).
