Navigation

Kihura Primary School started in 1965 by parents in Kigumba who wanted a school for local Catholic children. It became government-aided in 1975 and today the school is staffed by 26 teachers supporting about 950 students in primary 1 through primary 7.

Kihura Primary School is administered by a management committee, the parent-teachers association and prefects appointed by teachers. Challenges include the lack of funds to care for the neediest students (whose needs stem from AIDS, war, and homelessness), to improve structures and to add furnishings.

[related_posts]Kihura Primary School is very proud of its music activities, which have contributed toward discipline and entertainment of students. The school has also excelled in sports and games, taking high rankings in inter-school competitions. The school currently enjoys linked relationships with two schools in England, engaging in postcard exchanges, fundraising activities and joint workshops. Kihura Primary looks forward to additional sister school relationships.
