Kawo Primary School was opened by the Catholic Mill Hill missionaries with the aim of increasing overall learning in the area, and with the support of the community, in 1958. It is now a government aided school of 851 day scholars in grades primary 1 through 7.

Kawo Primary SchoolKawo Primary School has 10 classrooms, and a staff of 15 teachers. In addition to government grants, the school charges per-student annual development fees of 5,000 shillings (about $2.50) annually, and a fee for midday meals of 10,000 shillings (about $5) per term.

The area around the school has a large population and in order to provide better service to the community, it needs more staff, classrooms, furnishings, and latrines. The school is also in need of more modern educational materials.

[related_posts]Head Teacher David Euge is eager to connect the school with other schools abroad. Sister school relationships would provide those connections, and would prove to be mutually beneficial.
