Kakira Estate Primary School formerly known as Quilliam School, a name derived from the founding partner, Mr. Quilliam, who was the Personnel Manager of the then Madhvani Sugar Limited, now Kakira Sugar Limited.
Kakira Estate Primary School provides education to company workers’ children in lower classes of P.1 to P.4. It was initially housed in a community hall, modified into small classrooms. Later, a 4-classroom block with a head teacher’s office attached, was constructed and the school was upgraded to P.7. As the enrollment grew, two-class roomed block, administration block and five blocks of staff quarters were constructed in 2001.
Kakira Estate Primary School is a secular mixed day school, enrolling both company and non-company worker’s children. Recently in 2013, the school acquired a pre-primary section through the initiative of the current head-teacher, Mrs. Benna Ayomo.
Kakira Estate Primary School enrollment currently stands at 327 pupils. It has 16 teaching and 6 support staff, all paid and housed by Kakira Sugar Limited. All the staff and the pupils are provided with break and midday meals at school. Tuition fees are highly subsidized by the company.

Both the teaching and support staff are cooperative, committed and hardworking. The parents are also cooperative and supportive.
