Guiding Star Primary School was founded in 1995 by Mrs. Gertrude Namukasa Iga. The school has 367 pupils (57 boarders).
Guiding Star Primary School receives no government grants, and charges fees for tuition, books, uniforms, lunches, and boarding. Most parents are poor, however, and often fail to pay fees in full.
