Bugambe BCS Primary School is the oldest school in Bugambe sub-county. The school was founded in 1945 to provide Catholic religious studies to a handful of students in one class. It has since become a government-aided, full primary school (nursery through grade 7) and 8 teachers now support 493 students. Between 2004 and 2006, the school constructed and furnished 6 classrooms, an office, and a storage room using government funds through a School Facility Grant. Eight teachers now use 8 classrooms.
Bugambe BCS Primary School relies on government grants for its income but these are insufficient. Particular challenges for the school include the lack of staff quarters and negative attitudes held by local parents. Many [related_posts]parents keep their children at home to work and often fail to provide children with school supplies. In addition, the school’s well has stopped working and there are no nearby water sources. P.O. Box 2
