Aputput Primary School established in 2004 by the Catholic Church. The Church donated land and established the in temporary grass shelters. By 2005, when it was taken over by government, the school’s two teachers catered to 250 students.

With materials and labor donated by the community, the school built three classrooms and two five-stance pit latrines to supplement two temporary classrooms. Today the school has 467 students in grades primary 1 through 5, and it is staffed by 7 teachers. The school still needs additional classrooms, staff housing, a reliable well for clean water, desks and other furnishings.

The community lacks funding to pay teachers, who are now all volunteers. Aputput Primary School looks forward to engaging in sister school relationships.P. O. Box 615 Mbale, Eastern Region Uganda
