Sweet Home Day Care and Nursery is a registered community based organization with the mission to create and raise a healthy non stigmatized and responsible generation of young people. Daily, around 150 young children from vulnerable groups in Wakiso come to Sweet Home Day Care and Nursery for education and day care.

History: Sweet Home Day Care and Nursery started in 2010. After Merianne lost her job as a teacher because she had to take care of her own family, she started to teach her own children from home. It was then when she came up with the idea to start her own school, together with her husband David. They started to visit families in the community and found out that there are many vulnerable children in Nansana and many parents had refused to send their children to school. Merianne and David decided to also help these children by offering free education for those who can’t afford it.
Mission: Sweet Home Day Care and Nursery started with the mission to nurture the whole child in areas of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual developments.
