St. Maria Goretti Nursery Preparatory School was founded in 1982 by the Kabale Diocese of the Catholic Church and in 1987 and it became government-aided. St. Maria Goretti now has 23 teachers using 12 permanent classrooms to cater to the needs of more than students (579 boarders).

St. Maria Goretti Preparatory School has always performed well since its first candidate class in the late 80s. The passing of the pupils has always been attributed to the discipline of the pupils and the Christian values imparted into the pupils.
