Over 20,000 Miss A Level In Tanzania

At least 24,528 students from last year’s Form Four students will miss out on further education in Tanzania, at least for the short term.

At a communication by the Minister of State in the President’s Office, the affected students include those selected to join vocational training.

“It is a very challenging situation, but we are working round the clock to ensure more classrooms are constructed so that all the qualified students are enrolled,” said Mr. George Simbachawene, the Minister of State in the President’s Office (Regional Administration and Local Government).

He further noted that 72 percent of the 90,248 students who passed are expected to report to 373 public schools nationwide, with girls comprising 28,911.

This year, 34,064 students will pursue science subjects whilst 30,897 students will study arts and business-related courses.

Vocational training institutes will admit 220 girls and 539 boys.
