Management Training and Advisory Centre (MTAC) is a body corporate under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (MTIC). The Centre was inaugurated on 14th July 1964 as a project of the Government of Uganda (GOU) that was funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the executing agency was the International Labor Organization (ILO).
The successful project was subsequently transformed into the Management Training and Advisory Centre, which was established by the Management Training and Advisory Centre Act, 1969.

Management Training and Advisory Centre has a range of different diploma and certificate courses. These are instrumental in the industry and other economic sectors in improving management practices and more critically, assisting Ugandans to become entrepreneurs and job creators. Some of the courses offered include;
Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, and Business Management, Finance and Accounting, Information System, Computer, Computer Engineering, Purchasing and Supplies Management, Clearing Forwarding and Shipping Management, Records Keeping and Information Management, Microfinance Management, Education Planning and Management, Public Administration & Management.
Short Courses: Management Training and Advisory Centre also offers short courses like Computer Applications, Networking, Hardware Repair and Maintenance, Dynamic Website Development, Computerized Records keeping and Information Management, Database and Information Management, Computerized Accounting, Statistical Data Analysis and Microsoft Project.
Management Training and Advisory Centre campuses include, Arua, Gulu, Iganga, Pader, Soroti, Masaka, Mbale, Mbarara, Mpigi Centre and Mukono Centre.

Mission Statement: Management Training and Advisory Centre mission is “to improve management performance and promote enterprise development through training and consultancy”.
Objectives:
- To assist Government departments, public and private institutions with advisory and training services
- To assist industry and other economic sectors in improving management practices;
- To assist existing and new enterprises in studying designs of new products, models and devices
- To prepare citizens of Uganda for managerial, functional and supervisory roles in industries and business enterprises
- To help citizens of Uganda to become entrepreneurs
- To raise the standard of skill of workers employed in industry and
- To organize and conduct training courses for semi-skilled and skilled workers.
