Ecole Francophone de Kampala

Ecole Francophone de Kampala is a French language school that offers you the possibilities of learning French to achieve your goals, with their experienced and dynamic teaching staff in a friendly atmosphere you can ever imagine.

Their levels are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Admission: Ecole Francophone de Kampala admits all students from beginners to specialized levels. With small classes of 5 to 10 students, you are assured of attention to the fullest satisfaction of your French language needs. There are four terms in a year and there are beginners every term. If you have done French before, a placement test will be given to you to establish your level and place you in the appropriate class.

Classes: The basic course is 180 hours covered in three terms each of 60 hours. With normal programs of 6 hours per week, a term is covered in two and a half months leaving about two weeks for a break. The course takes nine months but with intensive programmes it will take a shorter period.


Activities: French language teaching, Translation and interpretation.

The six levels are: A1, A2, B1, B2, and C1 & C2.

DELF: A: Elementary language user, A1: Introduction and discovery, A2: Intermediate or ordinary use, B: independent language user, B1: Threshold level B2: Advanced or independent.

DALF: C: Experienced language user, C1: Autonomous, C2: Mastery

History: Ecole Francophone de Kampala is a French language school in Kampala located in Bugolobi off Old Port bell road.

Its parent company – Ecole Francophone St. Pierre Ltd – was incorporated in Uganda in 2010. The school started as a learning centre for Year Eleven students preparing for IGCSE French exams from Cambridge University. Later, the school started enrolling other students for courses in French as a foreign language.
