Navigation

Forest High School was built by PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools) worked in partnership with the New Forests Company in Uganda, with each party providing half the total cost of its development. PEAS worked with architects in the UK and Uganda to develop the site plan and designs for the school, which has seven classrooms, a library (donated by UK artist, Tracey Emin), a laboratory, 2 boarding houses, modern sanitary facilities and an administration block.

Most of the students are from households supported by parents or guardians who are dependent on agriculture for their livelihood.

The school has solar energy installed which is able to power the computers and also provide light in the evening for the students. The school laboratories are well equipped to teach science practical lessons.

[related_posts]The school is led by a local School Director and Head Teacher and has an arable income generating project growing maize and beans.
