UMCAT School of Journalism and Mass Communication is a leading privately run Media Training Institution in Uganda. UMCAT Uganda provides progressive and highly-relevant training and education in Journalism and Mass Communication and other related courses.

The school is under the Directorate of training of United Media Consultants and Trainers – UMCAT (U) Ltd: a company registered and incorporated under section16(1) of the Companies Act of the Republic of Uganda.

Services: UMCAT School of Journalism and Mass Communication is run by professional journalists who offer professional services in; Consultancy, Training, Research, Public Relations, Advertising, Customer care.

History: Since its inception in 1996, the school has attracted an increasing number of students from around Uganda and Africa. It’s no wonder that those who have gone through our esteemed Institution have recorded profound success and a high level of performance in their respective careers.

Legal Status & Membership: UMCAT School of Journalism and Mass Communication exists in accordance with Section 22/33 of the Education Act 1970 of the Government of Uganda. The school operates under registration no. PVS/U/13.

At UMCAT, we collaborate with the East African Media Instistute (EAMI) – Uganda chapter; The Uganda Media Council (UMC); National Institute of Journalists of Uganda (NIJA); Uganda Journalists Associations (UJA) among others.

Mission: To perpetuate a learning culture for effective and value-based acquisition of skills and knowledge in Journalism and Mass Communication relevant for today’s job market.
